David

The name that is transliterated as “David” in English means “beloved.” (Source: Cornwall / Smith 1997 )

In Spanish Sign Language it is translated with the sign signifying king and a sling (referring to 1 Samuel 17:49 and 2 Samuel 5:4). (Source: John Elwode in The Bible Translator 2008, p. 78ff. )

6:31a These are the men David put in charge of the music in the house of the LORD

⌊King⌋ David gave the following men the responsibility for organizing the music ⌊for worship⌋ in the house of Yahweh.

⌊Some men in the clan of Levi⌋ served in the house of Yahweh with songs/music. David appointed them ⌊to do this⌋

⌊King⌋ David chose these Levites to lead the music in the tent of Yahweh’s presence

6:31b after the ark rested there.
