2:7a I will shake all the nations,

I will shake all countries,
-or-
I will overthrow every ⌊Gentile⌋ nation.

2:7b and they will come with all their treasures,

and precious things of all countries will come.

And ⌊as a result⌋ , treasures of all ⌊G entile⌋ nations will arrive ⌊to this temple⌋ .

2:7c and I will fill this house with glory, says the LORD of Hosts.

And I will cover this Temple with splendor,’ said Yahweh, Commander of heavenly armies.

And the Temple will be filled with ⌊my⌋ beauty,’ said Yahweh, the completely strong ⌊one⌋ .

Section 1:1–11

God called the people to rebuild the Temple

1:1a In the second year of the reign of Darius, on the first day of the sixth month,

It was⌋ the first day of the sixth month of the second year of the emperor Darius.

In the second year, the first day of the sixth month when king Darius ruled ⌊Persia⌋ ,

1:1b the word of the LORD came through Haggai the prophet to Zerubbabel

That day⌋ the word of Yahweh came to Zerubbabel through the prophet Haggai.
-or-
Yahweh revealed/spoke his word to the prophet Haggai. Then the prophet Haggai spoke ⌊that word⌋ to Zerubbabel.

1:1c son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah,

Zerubbabel was the⌋ governor of Judah, ⌊and the⌋ son of Shealtiel.
-or-

Zerubbabel⌋ ruled ⌊the land of⌋ Judah, ⌊and he was the⌋ son of Shealtiel.

1:1d and to Joshua son of Jehozadak, the high priest, stating

That word of Yahweh also came through Haggai⌋ to Joshua the chief priest. ⌊Joshua was the⌋ son of Jozadak.

Haggai also spoke that word of Yahweh⌋ to Joshua the Supreme Priest ⌊who was the⌋ son of Jozadak.

2:18 Consider carefully from this day forward—from the twenty-fourth day of the ninth month, the day the foundation of the LORD’s temple was laid—consider carefully:

‘Consider (plur.) what will happen from this day on, from this twenty-fourth day of the ninth month. Today is the day that the foundation of the Temple was finished. Think carefully.
-or-
‘You (plur.) should give careful thought. Today is the twenty-fourth day of the ninth month, the day that you finished laying the root stones upon which you will build the Temple. Look carefully what is happening to you from this day on.

People obeyed the call of God

1:12a Then Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel and Joshua son of Jehozadak, the high priest, as well as all the remnant of the people, obeyed the voice of the LORD their God

Then Zerubbabel whose father was Shealtiel, and Joshua the chief priest whose father was Jozadak, and everyone who had come back from Babylon, obeyed Yahweh their God.
-or-
Then everyone who had come back from Babylon obeyed the voice of Yahweh ⌊whom they worshipped⌋ . These people included Zerubbabel ⌊who was⌋ the son of Shealtiel, and Joshua ⌊who was both⌋ chief priest and the son of Jozadak.

1:12b and the words of the prophet Haggai,

And ⌊the people also obeyed⌋ the words of Haggai the prophet.
-or-
And ⌊they obeyed⌋ what Haggai the prophet told them.

1:12c because the LORD their God had sent him. So the people feared the LORD.

They did that⌋ because Yahweh their God had sent him and the people respected/honoured Yahweh.

They obeyed⌋ because they ⌊believed⌋ that their God Yahweh had sent Haggai. And they feared Yahweh.
