20:33a The high places, however, were not removed;

But he did not remove the sacred places on the hills

22:8a So while Jehu was executing judgment on the house of Ahab,

24:7b and had even used the sacred objects of the house of the LORD for the Baals.

They had used the holy things from the temple for the ⌊idols called⌋ Baals.

They used the items dedicated to Yahweh in the worship of the Baal ⌊idols⌋.

25:12a and the army of Judah also captured 10,000 men alive.

Judah’s army also took ten thousand men who were still alive.

25:12b They took them to the top of a cliff

25:12c and threw them down so that all were dashed to pieces.

29:21a They brought seven bulls, seven rams, seven lambs, and seven male goats

With them, they brought seven bulls, seven rams, seven male lambs and seven male goats.

They brought seven (7) males of each of these animals ⌊to offer as a sacrifices to Yahweh⌋. They brought oxen, sheep, young sheep and goats.

29:21b as a sin offering for the kingdom, for the sanctuary, and for Judah.

They brought these animals to be sin offerings. This was because of the sin that people had done in the royal household, in Yahweh’s holy place, and in the land of Judah.

They brought them as sacrifices for sin, to cleanse the king’s family, God’s house, and the kingdom of Judah.

29:21c And the king commanded the priests, the descendants of Aaron, to offer them on the altar of the LORD.

The king told the priests, whose ancestor was Aaron, to sacrifice the animals on Yahweh’s altar.

Then King Hezekiah instructed Aaron’s grandchildren, the ones who were sacrificers, to kill the animals on the sacrifice platform of Yahweh.

SIL Translator’s Notes on 2 Chronicles 30:17

30:17a Since there were many in the assembly who had not consecrated themselves,

Many of the people gathered there were unclean.
-or-
Many of the people of Israel had not made themselves clean ⌊and could not kill their own Passover lamb⌋.

30:17b the Levites were in charge of slaughtering the Passover lambs for every unclean person

So the Levites had to kill the Passover lambs for those who were not clean
-or-
So it was men from the clan of Levi who killed the lambs of the Passover feast for those were not clean.

30:17c to consecrate the lambs to the LORD.

and could not bring their own lamb to Yahweh.
-or-
They could not offer their own lamb to Yahweh.
