2:13 So now I am sending you Huram-abi, a skillful man endowed with creativity.

I am sending you (sing) Huram-abi who is a very skillful man.

I am sending you Huram-abi. He has skill to do many things.

6:6a But now I have chosen Jerusalem

6:6b for My Name to be there,

My name will be there.

6:6c and I have chosen David to be over My people Israel.’

And I have chosen David to rule over my people Israel.’

Also, David is my choice. He will be king over Israel, my people.’ ”

6:38a and when they return to You with all their heart and soul

Then they might return to you with all their heart. They might return to you with all their soul

Then maybe they will repent sincerely. They will turn their hearts completely back to you

6:38b in the land of the enemies who took them captive,

there in the land where they are captives.
-or-
in the land where they are prisoners.

6:38c and when they pray in the direction of the land that You gave to their fathers,

They will pray while facing toward this land that you gave to their ancestors.

They will face toward this land that you gave to their fathers before them, and they will pray.

6:38d the city You have chosen, and the house I have built for Your Name,

They will pray to you facing toward this city, the city you chose. They will face this temple, the temple I built to honor your name.

They will face toward ⌊Jerusalem⌋, your chosen city, when they pray to you. They will face this house I built, where you are worshiped.

8:6a as well as Baalath, all the store cities that belonged to Solomon,

He also rebuilt the town of Baalath and the towns for storage

Solomon also repaired Baalath City and other cities to store things.

8:6b and all the cities for his chariots and horses—

and the towns where he kept his chariots and horses.

And he repaired other cities to keep his war carts and horses.

8:6c whatever he desired to build in Jerusalem,

He built whatever he desired in Jerusalem,

King Solomon built everything he wanted in Jerusalem City,

8:6d Lebanon, and throughout the land of his dominion.

9:20a All King Solomon’s drinking cups were gold,

All of King Solomon’s drinking cups were made of gold,

They used gold to make the cups from which King Solomon drank ⌊wine and water⌋.

9:20b and all the utensils of the House of the Forest of Lebanon were pure gold.

and all the dishes that they used in the Palace of the Lebanon Forest were made of pure gold.

Also, they used good quality gold to make everything they used in the Palace called Lebanon Forest.

9:20c There was no silver,

There was nothing made of silver ⌊in the king’s house⌋,

They did not use silver to make dishes ⌊for King Solomon⌋.

9:20d because it was accounted as nothing in the days of Solomon.

because silver was not considered valuable during Solomon’s reign.

⌊The reason was that⌋ while Solomon ruled Israel, silver was not precious.

11:3a “Tell Rehoboam son of Solomon king of Judah

“Speak to Solomon’s son Rehoboam, the king of Judah,

“Tell this to King Rehoboam of Judah, the son of King Solomon,

11:3b and all the Israelites in Judah and Benjamin

and to all the Israelites in Judah and Benjamin.

and to all the Israelite people of ⌊the clans of⌋ Judah and Benjamin.

12:12a Because Rehoboam humbled himself, the anger of the LORD turned away from him,

Because Rehoboam made himself humble, Yahweh abandoned his anger he had against him

King Rehoboam admitted that he was wrong. Because of that Yahweh was no longer angry with him.

12:12b and He did not destroy him completely.

and did not destroy ⌊his kingdom⌋.

This is why ⌊the kingdom of Judah⌋ was not destroyed.

12:12c Indeed, conditions were good in Judah.

Moreover, things went well in Judah.

Actually, ⌊God caused⌋ good things to happen in the kingdom of Judah.
