Section 9:1-9

The Lord appeared to Solomon for a second time

9:1a Now when Solomon had finished building the house of the LORD and the royal palace,

When ⌊King⌋ Solomon had completed both Yahweh’s house and his own palace/house,
-or-
King⌋ Solomon’s ⌊workmen⌋ finished building the temple for Yahweh and the king’s own palace/mansion.

9:1b and had achieved all that he had desired to do,

and had built everything ⌊else⌋ he planned/wanted to build,
-or-
Solomon also accomplished/fulfilled all his ⌊other⌋ building/construction plans.

10:5a the food at his table, the seating of his servants, the service and attire of his attendants and cupbearers,

the food served on his table, his officials seated in their places, his servants standing there in their uniforms,

the food he and his guests ate, his officials sitting around him, the robes of the servants who attended him in his house,

10:5b and the burnt offerings he presented at the house of the LORD,

the servants who gave him cups ⌊of wine⌋, and the burnt offerings he made in the temple of Yahweh.

those who served him his food and drink, and the burnt offerings he offered in the house of worship of Yahweh.

10:5c it took her breath away.

She was breathless/overcome ⌊with admiration⌋.

All this amazed/awed her.

11:40a Solomon therefore sought to kill Jeroboam. But Jeroboam arose and fled to Egypt, to Shishak king of Egypt,

Solomon tried to kill Jeroboam, but Jeroboam escaped to Shishak, the king of Egypt.

Solomon tried to have Jeroboam killed/assassinated. But Jeroboam ran away to Egypt ⌊and found safety/asylum there⌋ with King Shishak.

11:40b where he remained until the death of Solomon.

He stayed there until the death of Solomon.

He took away all the stored wealth from the temple/house of Yahweh,

15:27a Then Baasha son of Ahijah of the house of Issachar conspired against Nadab,

Baasha the son of Ahijah from the tribe of Issachar made plans to act against him.

A man named Baasha decided to get rid of Nadab. Baasha was a son of Ahijah, from the tribe descended from Issachar.

15:27b and Baasha struck him down at Gibbethon of the Philistines

He assassinated/murdered Nadab at a town in Philistia called Gibbethon.

He killed Nadab at Gibbethon, a city in ⌊the area/land of⌋ Philistia.

15:27c while Nadab and all Israel were besieging the city.

This happened⌋ while Nadab and all the Israelite ⌊army⌋ were making war on Gibbethon.

At that time Nadab and his army had surrounded the city in order to capture it.
