8:47a and when they come to their senses in the land to which they were taken,

There in the land where they are slaves, your people may decide to change/repent.

8:47b and they repent and plead with You in the land of their captors, saying,

There in the land of their captors, they may turn from their sins, and plead with you for mercy. They will say,

9:13a “What are these towns you have given me, my brother?” asked Hiram,

“What ⌊poor/shabby/worthless⌋ towns you have given me, my brother!” he said.

9:13b and he called them the Land of Cabul, as they are called to this day.

And he called these towns the Land of Kabul, ⌊worthless⌋, a name they have even today.

And ⌊King Hiram⌋ named the area/region “Land of Kabul,” ⌊that is, Worthless Land,⌋ ⌊because he thought the towns were worthless⌋. Until today this is the name of that place.
