6:12a “As for this temple you are building,

7:6a Solomon made his colonnade fifty cubits long and thirty cubits wide,

Solomon also built a hall of/with columns. The length ⌊of this hall⌋ was 50 cubits and its width was 30 cubits.

Solomon also had ⌊his workmen⌋ construct the Hallway of Pillars. It was twenty-five (25) meters long and fifteen (15) meters wide.

7:6b with a portico in front of it and a canopy with pillars in front of the portico.

The meaning of this verse part is not certain. Translators may wish to follow their majority-language version.

In front of this hall was a covered porch supported by columns.

There was an entrance area in front of this hallway, and it had pillars and a roof.

They each held forty large liquid measures ⌊of water⌋ and were four cubits across the rim/top.

Each basin could contain about a thousand liters. Each one measured two meters from one side of the rims to the other.

7:38c one basin for each of the ten stands.

8:19a Nevertheless, you are not the one to build it;

But you (sing) are not the one who will build this house.

8:19c will build the house for My Name.’

But Yahweh told David that he would not be the one/king to have a temple built/rise for his honor/glory. Yahweh was pleased that David had wanted/planned to do it. However, ⌊I,⌋ David’s own son, would cause the temple to rise.
