Translation commentary on Nehemiah 11:26

The listing of rural towns continues with the preposition in attached to the beginning of each place name. Revised Standard Version follows the Hebrew quite closely while Good News Translation adapts to normal English syntax. Contemporary English Version cites the names with only commas separating them. Many languages use affixes or postpositions to indicate location. Translators must use grammatical forms that are natural in the receptor language.
