Translation commentary on Jeremiah 36:17

How did you write … at his dictation?: The two questions are literally one question in Hebrew, “How did you write all these words from his mouth?” The function of the question is to determine whether Jeremiah had dictated all of it or if part of it had come from Baruch himself. Good News Translation identifies who is meant in the phrase at his dictation by saying, “Did Jeremiah dictate it to you?”
