Translation commentary on 1 Chronicles 6:18

The sons of Kohath …: This verse is identical to verse 2. Good News Translation does not state explicitly that the four children of Kohath listed here are all sons. Since they are all males, it may be best to make this explicit in translation if readers might think one or more of the names is a woman’s name. A model that does this is “Kohath was the father of four sons….”
