9:6a Then all the leaders of Shechem and Beth-millo gathered beside the oak at the pillar in Shechem

All the people of Shechem town and Beth Millo town gathered at the great tree in Shechem near the pillar.

Then all the people of Shechem town and Beth Millo town came together. They gathered at the big tree of Shechem next to the standing stone.

9:6b and proceeded to make Abimelech their king.

There they proclaimed Abimelek king.

They made Abimelek be their king.

9:38c Are these not the people you ridiculed?

Aren’t these men the ones you despised?

Now the people you said were nothing are coming here.

9:38d Go out now and fight them!”

But Samson only stayed ⌊with the woman⌋ until the middle of the night. Then he got up.

16:3b took hold of the doors of the city gate and both gateposts, and pulled them out, bar and all.
