11:29a Then the Spirit of the LORD came upon Jephthah,

Then Yahweh’s spirit came over Jephthah.

Then the spirit of Yahweh took control of Jephthah.

11:29b and he passed through Gilead and Manasseh,

He traveled through the region of Gilead and the area where the clan of Manasseh lived

He went through Gilead and Manasseh ⌊calling together men who would join him as soldiers⌋ .

11:29c then through Mizpah of Gilead.

and the town of Mizpah in Gilead ⌊to gather together an army⌋ .

They gathered in the town of Mizpah in Gilead

11:29d And from there he advanced against the Ammonites.

From there Jephthah went to attack Ammon.

and went out to fight against the Ammon army.
