1:14b and urged him to ask her father for a field.

Aksah urged her husband to ask Caleb her father for a piece of farmland.

she said to her husband, “You must ask my father for a piece of land.”

1:14c When she got off her donkey, Caleb asked her,

Then Aksah went to visit Caleb her father.⌋ When she got off her donkey Caleb asked her,

She went to see her father Caleb.⌋ After she got down from her donkey, her father asked her

1:14d “What do you desire?”

“What do you want?”

2:10a After that whole generation had also been gathered to their fathers,

The whole generation of Joshua also died and went to be with their ancestors.

All those people of Joshua’s time died.

2:10b another generation rose up who did not know the LORD or the works that He had done for Israel.

Another generation came after them. These people did not know Yahweh. They did not remember the mighty things he had done for Israel.

A new generation replaced them who had no personal experience with Yahweh. They forgot about the deeds that he had done for the people of Israel.

But when Ehud reached the gods made of stone near Gilgal he turned and came back to the king. He said,

3:19b “I have a secret message for you, O king.”
