SIL Translator’s Notes on 2 Chronicles 14:6

14:6a Because the land was at peace, Asa built fortified cities in Judah.

He strengthened the defences of the cities of Judah, since there was peace in the land.

His workers repaired the walls around the cities while the land of Judah was at peace.

14:6b In those days no one made war with him, because the LORD had given him rest.

During those years, no army attacked him, for Yahweh gave him peace.
