SIL Translator’s Notes on 2 Chronicles 7:6

7:6a The priests stood at their posts,

The priests stood in their places
-or-
The sacrificers stood in their places,

7:6b as did the Levites with the musical instruments of the LORD,

and the Levites held Yahweh’s musical instruments.
-or-
along with the descendants of Levi, who had Yahweh’s instruments of music ⌊in their hands⌋.

7:6c which King David had made for giving thanks to the LORD

These were the instruments⌋ that King David had made for worshiping Yahweh.
-or-
King David had made ⌊these instruments⌋ to play music in honor of Yahweh.

7:6d and with which David had offered praise,

He had used these instruments when he thanked Yahweh ⌊in song
-or-
He had used these instruments to show thanks of Yahweh

7:6e saying, “For His loving devotion endures forever.”

saying, “He is always loyal ⌊to keep his promises to us⌋.”
-or-
when he said, “Yahweh’s loyal love has no limits.”

7:6f Across from the Levites, the priests sounded trumpets,

The priests stood on the opposite side from the Levites, blowing their trumpets,
-or-
The sacrificers blew their horns, standing across ⌊the courtyard⌋ from the descendants of Levi.

7:6g and all the Israelites were standing.

while all the people of Israel remained standing.
-or-
The Israel people stayed standing ⌊during the ceremony⌋.
