10:28a But if someone tells you,

However, if/suppose someone should say to you (plur.) :

10:28b “This food was offered to idols,”

“This food was sacrificed to an idol,”

“This is meat that worshipers have dedicated to an idol,”

10:28c then do not eat it,

then you (plur.) should not eat it,
-or-
then, in that case, I advise you not to eat that food.

10:28d for the sake of the one who told you

both because of the person who said that
-or-
In that way you (plur.) will be considerate of the person who informed you,

10:28e and for the sake of conscience—

and because in that person’s heart it is a sin.
-or-
and ⌊you (plur.) will not⌋ make them upset because they think you are doing wrong.

11:27a Therefore, whoever eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner

(Good News Translation) It follows that if one of you eats the Lord’s bread or drinks from his cup in a way that dishonors him,

So anyone who eats the bread or drinks ⌊wine⌋ from the Lord’s cup in a way that is not right/proper

So you must eat the bread or drink the cup of the Lord in the proper way.

11:27b will be guilty of sinning against the body and blood of the Lord.

is sinning and they look down on the body and blood of the Lord.

Those who do not do this disrespect the Lord’s body and his blood.
