17:5a For I have not dwelt in a house from the day I brought Israel up out of Egypt until this day,

I have not stayed in a ⌊permanent⌋ house from the day I brought the Israelites out of Egypt to this day.

I, ⌊Yahweh, am the one who⌋ brought the people of Israel out of Egypt. From that day until now, I have not lived in any ⌊permanent⌋ building.

17:5b but I have moved from tent to tent

I have gone from one tent site to another tent site.

17:5c and dwelling to dwelling.

So ⌊Tou’s son⌋ , Hadoram, brought ⌊and gave to David⌋ many types ⌊of gifts made⌋ of gold, silver and bronze.

King Tou of Hamath and King Hadadezer of Zobah had been engaged in battle. ⌊So⌋ when Tou heard that David defeated Hadadezer’s whole army, he sent his son Hadoram to congratulate David on his victory. Hadoram also brought David ⌊gifts made⌋ of gold, silver, and bronze.

20:6a And there was still another battle at Gath,

21:30a but David could not go before it to inquire of God,

David could not go to the Holy Tent to speak with God (English Easy-to-Read Version)

21:30b because he was afraid of the sword of the angel of the LORD.

because he was afraid. He was afraid of the angel Yahweh’s and the angel’s sword.

But David was afraid of Yahweh’s angel and his sword. Therefore he/David did not go to Gibeon to seek advice from God. That’s where the sacred tent that Moses had made in the desert was kept. The altar where sacrifices were offered to Yahweh was at the same place in Gibeon.

23:13a The sons of Amram: Aaron and Moses. Aaron and his descendants were set apart forever

Amram’s sons were Aaron and Moses. Aaron was chosen for a special work. (English Easy-to-Read Version)

23:13b to consecrate the most holy things,

{He and his descendants were chosen} to always prepare the holy things for the Temple service.

23:13c to burn incense before the LORD,

They would offer sacrifices to Yahweh.

They served Yahweh by offering sacrifices to him

23:13d to minister before Him, and to pronounce blessings in His name forever.

They would serve him in the temple. And they would use his name to bless the people. (EEB) This was their job forever.

and they blessed the people in his name. Their job was to do all that was necessary in the Temple for all time to come.

Amram was the ancestor of Aaron and Moses. Aaron and his sons were set apart for the holy service of sacrificing the people’s offerings to Yahweh. They would serve Yahweh and pronounce blessings in his name for all time to come.

Amram was the father of Aaron and Moses. God chose Aaron and his sons ⌊and their sons after them⌋ to always do the special work in the Temple. Their job was to prepare the holy things in the Temple for service. They also were to burn incense in honor of Yahweh, and to offer sacrifices and bless the people in his name forever.
