SIL Translator’s Notes on 1 Chronicles 28:1

Section 28:1-10 King David spoke to all the leaders of Israel

28:1a Now David summoned all the leaders of Israel to Jerusalem:

⌊King⌋ David called the leaders of Israel ⌊country⌋ to gather together at Jerusalem ⌊city⌋ .

King David commanded all Israel’s ⌊government⌋ officers to come to Jerusalem, ⌊so they came/gathered⌋ .

28:1b the leaders of the tribes, the leaders of the divisions in the king’s service,

29:12a Both riches and honor come from You, and You are the ruler over all.

You(sing) give riches and respect/honour to whoever you chose. You rule all things;

29:12b In Your hands are power and might to exalt and give strength to all.

therefore you(sing) have the strength and power to make anyone great and strong.

You(sing) decide who to make strong because you are strong and you have all power.

Other clans that were descendants of Shelah worked with linen at Beth-Ashbea. And other descendants of Shelah lived in Cozeba. (These lists are from old books.) (Easy English Bible)

5:11 The descendants of Gad lived next to the Reubenites in the land of Bashan, as far as Salecah:

The tribe of Gad lived to the north of Reuben in the land of Bashan as far east as Salecah. (GNTD)
