8:38a Azel had six sons, and these were their names:

12:21a They helped David against the raiders,

SIL Translator’s Notes on 1 Chronicles 13:13

13:13a So he did not move the ark with him to the City of David;

So David did not move the Ark into the City of David. (New Living Translation (2004))

Therefore, David changed his mind and did not continue with his plan to bring God’s Holy Box to Jerusalem.

13:13b instead, he took it aside to the house of Obed-edom the Gittite.

16:17a He confirmed it to Jacob as a decree,

He gave it to Jacob as a law.

16:17b to Israel as an everlasting covenant:

⌊He confirmed/promised it to⌋ Israel with a covenant that would last forever.
