The Greek in Philippians 1:8 that is translated as “tender affection of Christ Jesus” or similar in English is translated in the German New Testament translation by Berger / Nord (publ. 1999) with die Liebe, die von Jesus herkommt und mir durch Mark und Bein geht or “the love that comes from Jesus and touches me at me inmost being (verbatim: “goes through marrow and bone”).”
