19:10a “I have been very zealous for the LORD, the God of Hosts,” he replied,

Elijah answered, “I have acted with complete/passionate loyalty/devotion to Yahweh, the God of armies.

Then Elijah said, “I have been fully devoted/loyal to ⌊you,⌋ Yahweh All-Powerful God!

19:10b “but the Israelites have forsaken Your covenant,

For the people of Israel have completely turned away from your (sing) covenant/agreement with them.

The people of Israel refuse to live by the solemn pact/agreement that you (sing) made with them.

19:10c torn down Your altars,

They have broken down your altars

They have destroyed the places where they/priests offer sacrifices to you.

19:10d and killed Your prophets with the sword.

and killed your prophets with their swords.

They have executed/slaughtered every one of your prophets

19:10e I am the only one left,

I, I alone, am still alive!

except me. I am the only survivor!

19:10f and they are seeking my life as well.”

And they are trying to take my life too!”
