The Greek in Matthew 7:29 that is translated as “not as their scribes” or similar in English is translated in the German New Testament translation by Berger / Nord (publ. 1999) with nicht dürr wie die der jüdischen Schriftgelehrten or “not as dry as those of the Jewish scribes.”
