The Greek in Matthew 27:24 that is translated as “I am innocent of this man’s blood” or similar in English is translated in the German New Testament translation by Berger / Nord (publ. 1999) with Ich trage keine Schuld an dieser Hinrichtung. An meinen Händen soll kein Blut kleben. or “I am not to blame for this execution. There shall be no blood on my hands.”
