The Greek in James 1:13 that is translated as “God cannot be tempted by evil and he himself tempts no one” or similar in English is translated in the German New Testament translation by Berger / Nord (publ. 1999) with Genausowenig wie ein Mensch Gott auf die Probe stellen kann, will Gott das mit einem Menschen tun or “Just as a human being cannot put God to the test, God does not want to do this to a human being.”
