The Greek in Galatians 3:13 that is translated as “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree” or similar in English is translated in the German New Testament translation by Berger / Nord (publ. 1999) with “Jeder ist verflucht der am Galgen hängt.” Jesus hing am Galgen des Kreuzes or “‘Everyone is cursed who hangs on the gallows.’ Jesus hung on the gallows of the cross.”
