look at intensely

In Gbaya, the notion looking at something intensely, longingly, or pensively is emphasized in the referenced verses with the ideophone féé. (Note that in Wisdom 13:5, the “seeing” is made explicit for the phrase “beauty of created things” and in Wisdom 13:7, the ideophone is used to emphasize “keep searching.”)

Ideophones are a class of sound symbolic words expressing human sensation that are used as literary devices in many African languages. (Source: Philip Noss)

Translation commentary on Wisdom 13:5

For from the greatness and beauty of created things comes a corresponding perception of their Creator: This means just what Good News Translation says; it is a good model. Contemporary English Version is also a good model with “Indeed, the power and beauty of nature should convince us that their Creator is even more powerful and beautiful.”
