Translation commentary on 1 Chronicles 6:2

The sons of Kohath …: This verse is almost the same as Exo 6.18. Once again there is no verb in Hebrew, and this is reflected in Revised Standard Version. Many modern versions provide possible models for those languages that require a verb in such a context.

Four sons of Kohath are listed, but it is the descendants of Amram who are listed in the following verses. Kohath’s four sons are listed again in verse 18.
