Section 7:27–28
Ezra praised God for the king’s kind letter
7:27a Blessed be the LORD, the God of our fathers,
¶ ⌊Then Ezra said,⌋ “Yahweh, the God of our (incl.) fathers, is worthy of praise/honor
-or-
¶ ⌊Because King Artaxerxes had been so kind/generous, Ezra said,⌋ “I praise/thank you, Yahweh, the God whom our (excl.) ancestors worshiped/served.
-or-
¶ ⌊So I, Ezra, said,⌋ “Yahweh, the God whom our first fathers worshiped long ago, you (sing.) are good!
7:27b who has put into the heart of the king
because he put the idea into the king’s heart/mind
-or-
For you (sing.) gave the king the desire
-or-
You led the king
7:27c to so honor the house of the LORD in Jerusalem,
to beautify/adorn the temple of Yahweh in Jerusalem.
-or-
to glorify your (sing.) house at Jerusalem by what he has commanded ⌊in this letter⌋.
