Persian officials found the decree/order that King Cyrus wrote

6:1a Thus King Darius ordered

¶ So King Darius ordered/commanded ⌊to do this⌋,
-or-
¶ Then ⌊after the letter was read to him,⌋ Darius, the chief/ruler, told ⌊some officials⌋

6:1b a search of the archives stored in the treasury of Babylon.

and they searched the house of books in the ⌊king’s⌋ treasure/store house in Babylon.
-or-
to search ⌊for evidence/proof of Cyrus’ order⌋. They searched at the place at Babylon where the important/official records ⌊of the kings/kingdom⌋ are kept/stored.
