10:9a So within the three days, all the men of Judah and Benjamin assembled in Jerusalem,

¶ In three days all the men from ⌊the clans of⌋ Judah and Benjamin gathered in Jerusalem.

¶ So on the third day, every man of/among ⌊the descendants of⌋ Judah and Benjamin came to Jerusalem ⌊city⌋.

10:9b and on the twentieth day of the ninth month,

It was the twentieth day of the ninth month⌊ ⌋ ⌊of the Jewish year⌋.

That was day twenty ⌊of Kislev,⌋ the ninth month ⌊of the year/calendar⌋.

Three days later, which was the twentieth day of the ninth month, all the men from ⌊the clans of⌋ Judah and Benjamin gathered in Jerusalem.

10:9c all the people sat in the square at the house of God,

All the people sat in an open place in front of the house of God.

Everyone sat in the wide open area which was in front of the temple.

10:9d trembling regarding this matter and because of the heavy rain.

They were trembling because ⌊of the seriousness⌋ of the matter/issue and because it was raining.

They were shaking/shivering ⌊from worry/anxiety about sending away their foreign wives⌋, and also because of the ⌊cold⌋ rain.
