5:20a Will not the Day of the LORD be darkness and not light,

There will be darkness on that day of Yahweh, not daylight.
-or-

⌊Isn’t it true that⌋ the day of the Lord will bring disaster not rescue? ⌊Yes!⌋
-or-
The day of Yahweh will not be light, only blackness,

5:20b even gloom with no brightness in it?

⌊There will be⌋ complete darkness with no brightness at all.
-or-
It will bring complete despair/gloom with no possibility of rescue.
-or-
deep darkness with no possibility of hope.
