4:10a “I sent plagues among you like those of Egypt;

“I brought plagues to you (plur.) like I brought ⌊plagues⌋ to Egypt.

“I made/caused disasters to come to you in the same way I did to Egypt.

4:10b I killed your young men with the sword,

I killed your (plur.) young men in war,

I sent/caused your young men to be killed in battle.

4:10c along with your captured horses.

together with your (plur.) horses ⌊that the enemy⌋ captured.

And I caused their horses to be caught.

4:10d I filled your nostrils with the stench of your camp,

I filled your (plur.) noses with the bad stink of ⌊decaying bodies⌋ in your (plur.) camps.

4:10e yet you did not return to Me,”
