8:18a And Jehoram walked in the ways of the kings of Israel,

He followed the ⌊evil⌋ ways/example of the kings who ruled Israel.

He acted in the same way that the kings ⌊of the northern kingdom⌋ of Israel had done.

8:18b just as the house of Ahab had done.

He lived/behaved just as the family of Ahab had,

-or-

In fact, he did the same ⌊evil things⌋ that the kings of Ahab’s family line did,

8:18c For he married a daughter of Ahab

because/since his wife was one of Ahab’s daughters.

-or-

for he had married one of the daughters of Ahab.

8:18d and did evil in the sight of the LORD.

He did what was was wrong/evil in the sight of Yahweh.

Yahweh hated the things that he did.
