7:8a When the lepers reached the edge of the camp,

When the lepers came to the outer limits/border of the camp,

The ⌊four⌋ men with the skin disease ⌊walked on⌋ and came to the first/outer tents.

7:8b they went into a tent

they went into one of the tents.

-or-

They went inside one of them

7:8c to eat and drink.

They ate and drank ⌊what they found there.⌋

-or-

and ⌊saw some food and wine left there⌋ . They ate ⌊the food⌋ and drank ⌊the wine⌋ .

7:8d Then they carried off the silver, gold, and clothing,

They ⌊also found⌋ silver, gold, and clothes. They took them

-or-

⌊After eating and drinking,⌋ they collected/gathered the silver and the gold and the clothes ⌊they found in the tent⌋ .

7:8e and went and hid them.

from the tent and hid them.

Then they left and put those things in a secret place.

7:8f On returning, they entered another tent,

They came back and entered another tent.

Then they returned ⌊to the camp⌋ and went into another tent.

7:8g carried off some items from there, and hid them.

They took some things from this tent too. They hid them as well.

In this tent ⌊too⌋ , they found/gathered ⌊valuable⌋ things, and they put them in a place where nobody could find them.
