22:3a Now in the eighteenth year of his reign,
Josiah was king ⌊of Judah⌋ for eighteen years.

22:3b King Josiah sent the scribe, Shaphan
⌊At that time⌋ he sent Shaphan his writer/scribe,

Josiah’s secretary was ⌊a man named⌋ Shaphan, who was the son of Azariah and grandson of Meshullam. During the eighteenth year of his reign, Josiah sent for Shaphan and told him to take this message to the temple of Yahweh.
