SIL Translator’s Notes on 2 Kings 14:24

14:24a And he did evil in the sight of the LORD

He/Jeroboam did things that were evil in the sight of Yahweh.

-or-

The way that Jeroboam acted displeased Yahweh.

14:24b and did not turn away from all the sins that Jeroboam son of Nebat

He did not stop doing the evil deeds that Jeroboam, the son of Nebat, had done

-or-

He continued to do the same evil deeds that Israel’s ⌊former⌋ king Jeroboam son of Nebat had done.

14:24c had caused Israel to commit.

and had encouraged Israel’s people to do.

-or-

That ⌊earlier/first⌋ Jeroboam had caused/led the people of Israel to do those evil deeds as well.
