1:4a Therefore this is what the LORD says:

For this reason Yahweh says ⌊to King Ahaziah⌋ :

So Yahweh says ⌊to Ahaziah⌋ :

And so this is the message from Yahweh ⌊to your (plur.) king⌋ :

1:4b ‘You will not get up from the bed on which you are lying.

‘You (sing.) will never get up ⌊again⌋ from your bed.

-or-

‘You (sing.) will not recover from your injuries.

-or-

‘You (sing.) will not leave that/your bed alive.

1:4c You will surely die.’”

It is certain that you (sing.) will die!’”

-or-

You (sing.) are certainly going to die.’”

-or-

You (sing.) will die there.’”

1:4d So Elijah departed.

So Elijah went ⌊and met/spoke with the messengers⌋ .

-or-

Elijah went ⌊and gave/spoke this message to the king’s men⌋ .

-or-

And Elijah obeyed.
