13:18a Then Elisha said, “Take the arrows!”

Then Elisha said to the king, “Pick/Take up ⌊more⌋ arrows.”

-or-

Then Elisha told the king to take/get the ⌊other⌋ arrows.

13:18b So he took them,

Then the king picked/took up some more arrows.

-or-

He/Jehoash did this.

13:18c and Elisha said to the king of Israel, “Strike the ground!”

Elisha said to him, “Strike the ground ⌊with them⌋ .”

-or-

Elisha told him/Jehoash to hit the ground ⌊with the arrows⌋ .

13:18d So he struck the ground three times and stopped.

The king struck/hit the ground ⌊with the arrows⌋ three times and then stopped.

-or-

Jehoash ⌊used the arrows to⌋ hit the ground, but he stopped after doing it three times.
