23:20a He also took with him the commanders of hundreds,

Jehoiada took the ⌊army⌋ commanders of hundreds,

23:20b the nobles, the rulers of the people, and all the people of the land,

the important leaders, the rulers of the people and all the people of the land,

23:20c and they brought the king down from the house of the LORD

and brought the king down from the temple of Yahweh.

They brought King Joash down from the house of Yahweh.

23:20d and entered the royal palace through the Upper Gate.

They went into the palace through the Upper Gate

23:20e They seated King Joash on the royal throne,

and made the king sit on the royal seat.
