SIL Translator’s Notes on 2 Chronicles 12:12

12:12a Because Rehoboam humbled himself, the anger of the LORD turned away from him,

Because Rehoboam made himself humble, Yahweh abandoned his anger he had against him
-or-
King Rehoboam admitted that he was wrong. Because of that Yahweh was no longer angry with him.

12:12b and He did not destroy him completely.

and did not destroy ⌊his kingdom⌋.
-or-
This is why ⌊the kingdom of Judah⌋ was not destroyed.

12:12c Indeed, conditions were good in Judah.

Moreover, things went well in Judah.
-or-
Actually, ⌊God caused⌋ good things to happen in the kingdom of Judah.
