22:21a Then a spirit came forward, stood before the LORD

Then the spirit came and stood in front of Yahweh.
-or-
At last a spirit came to stand in Yahweh’s presence.
-or-
Then one spirit moved directly in front of Yahweh.

22:21b and said, ‘I will entice him.’

He/It said, ‘I will deceive him.’
-or-
He/It said to Yahweh, ‘I can trick/lure Ahab ⌊into doing that⌋.’
-or-
This spirit offered to encourage/persuade Ahab ⌊to go⌋.

22:21c ‘By what means?’ asked the LORD.

Then Yahweh said/asked, ‘How ⌊will you (sing) do it/that⌋ ?’
-or-
Yahweh asked ⌊the spirit⌋, ‘In what way will you deceive/trick him?’
-or-
Yahweh asked him how he would do that.
