SIL Translator’s Notes on 1 Kings 19:3

19:3a And Elijah was afraid and ran for his life.

The New International Version translates the Septuagint here. The Masoretic Text reads, “Elijah saw/understood ⌊the situation/danger⌋ and went for his life.” Only the vowels are different.

Then Elijah was afraid for his life, so he fled.
-or-
Then Elijah became frightened and left that place in order to save his life.
-or-
Elijah ⌊quickly⌋ left because he was afraid that he would be killed.

19:3b When he came to Beersheba in Judah, he left his servant there,

He arrived at Beersheba, a town in Judah, and had his servant stay/remain there.
-or-
He left his servant behind in the town of Beersheba in Judah when he passed through.
-or-
He went with his servant to Beersheba town in Judah. He told his servant to stay there
