In Nicholas King’s English translation of the New Testament (2004), the translator decided to use bullet point lists in some case in the Ephesians, Colossians, and Titus. “There are elaborate groups of nouns strung together, and the sentences are rather long. I have tried, not entirely successfully, to make these long sentences more manageable by the use of bullet points.” One such list is Ephesians 3:8-12:
To me, the least significant of all the saints, this grace was given, to preach to the Gentiles the unfathomable wealth of Christ, and to shed light
- on what is the stewardship of the mystery which had been hidden from the ages by the God who fashioned everything
- that the many-sided wisdom of God might be made-known now to the powers and authorities in the heavenly regions, through the Church according to the purpose of the ages which he fashioned in Christ Jesus our Lord,
- in whom we have full assurance and free access in confidence through his faith.
