Joshua died

2:6a After Joshua had dismissed the people,

After Joshua had sent the people of Israel away

Then Joshua let the people go home.

2:6b the Israelites went out to take possession of the land, each to his own inheritance.

they each went to their own portion of the land and occupied it.

Each person went to possess the part of the land that God had given them.
