1:2a Now Ahaziah had fallen through the lattice of his upper room in Samaria

⌊The new king⌋ Ahaziah fell through the wooden network in the window of his upper room in Samaria ⌊city⌋ .

⌊One day,⌋ Ahaziah was at his home/palace in ⌊the city of⌋ Samaria. There he fell through the wood slats that covered an upper window.

He was ⌊seriously/badly⌋ hurt.

⌊Ahab’s son⌋ ⌊King⌋ Ahaziah had broken/injured his body by falling through the wooden slats of an upper window in his ⌊palace⌋ in Samaria.

1:2d “Go inquire of Baal-zebub, the god of Ekron,

“Go and request/seek ⌊an answer/oracle⌋ from the god Baal-Zabub in Ekron city.

to ask Baal-Zebub, the ⌊false⌋ god whom the people of Ekron worshiped,

to go ⌊to the house/temple of⌋ the god named Baal-Zebub, ⌊that is, lord of flies⌋ . This house/temple was in ⌊the city of⌋ Ekron ⌊in the land of Philistia⌋ .

1:2e whether I will recover from this injury.”

Find out whether I will survive this injury.”

Ahaziah wanted to learn ⌊from the priests of Baal-Zebub⌋ whether he would live ⌊or die⌋ .
