11:4a that this is what the LORD says:

Tell him, ‘Yahweh says this to you:

‘Listen to what Yahweh says to you.

11:4b ‘You are not to go up and fight against your brothers.

Do not go to war against your own people/brothers.

Do not fight against the Israelites, your relatives.

11:4c Each of you must return home,

Return home, all of you,
-or-
Each of you must go back to his house.

11:4d for this word is from Me.’”

because I have caused this to happen.’”

What has happened is what I wanted to happen ⌊and you should not fight against it⌋.’”

11:4e So they listened to the words of the LORD

So they did as Yahweh said to them.

So they listened to Yahweh’s words

11:4f and turned back from going against Jeroboam.

They returned home and did not fight against Jeroboam.

and did not go to fight against King Jeroboam ⌊and his people⌋.
