Translation commentary on Luke 14:15

Exegesis:

tis tōn sunanakeimenōn, see v. 10.

makarios hostis phagetai arton en tē basileia tou theou ‘blessed (is the man) who will eat bread in the kingdom of God.’ For makarios cf. on 1.45. Here it takes up makarios in v. 14, to which tauta refers. For phagein arton cf. on v. 1. phagetai is future tense. There appears to be no reason to understand the phrase in a different sense from v. 1. For en tē basileia tou theou cf. on 13.28f.

Translation:

To eat bread, or, ‘to have the meal,’ ‘to be entertained(-as-guest)’ (Bahasa Indonesia, Balinese).
