So Jehoiachin put off his prison garments is translated “Jehoiachin was allowed to put aside his prison clothes” by Die Bibel im heutigen Deutsch; Good News Translation and Bible en français courant are similar.

Every day of his life is more naturally expressed in English as “for the rest of his life” (Good News Translation, New Jerusalem Bible, New International Version) or “as long as he lived” (New American Bible).
