As for his allowance, a regular allowance is repetitious, as is until the day of his death as long as he lived. Good News Translation condenses the verse to say:
• Each day for as long as he lived, he was given a regular allowance for his needs.
Die Bibel im heutigen Deutsch expresses it as follows:
• At the command of the king of Babylon, everything that he needed was given to him each day until his death.
Instead of the passive was given him, translators can use an active form such as:
• Every day for the rest of Jehoiachin’s life, the Babylonian king gave him a regular allowance for his needs.
