In Gbaya, the notion of being stunned (or amazed, dazed, troubled in spirit) in the referenced verses is emphasized with yemsele, an ideophone that expresses the fact of being stunned, dazed.

sea / lake

The various Greek, Aramaic, Ge’ez, and Latin and Hebrew terms that are translated as “sea,” “ocean,” or “lake” in English are all translated in Chichewa with one term: nyanja. Those who sail the sea tell of its dangers, and we marvel at what we hear: Good News Translation says this well. Contemporary English Version is also good with:

• And when sailors tell stories
