Translation commentary on Nehemiah 7:8 - 7:25

For these verses refer to Ezra 2.3-20.

In verse 15 Binnui is in place of “Bani” in Ezra 2.10. In verse 24 Hariph is an alternative name for “Jorah” in Ezra 2.18. Both names have similar meanings: “of the autumn” and “autumn rain,” respectively. In verse 25 Gibeon is in place of “Gibbar” in Ezra 2.20. Translators should not try to harmonize the variants of names in this list and the list in Ezra 2.
